Viktoria Köln's Peter-Michael Gerig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berend Urban in the 36th minute of play. With a little luck, Super Bock FC's Andi Jaffke got control of the ball when Pavel Kuttner tried to sneak it across the goal line. Berend Urban might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter-Michael Gerig. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Berend Urban ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Super Bock FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Claus Neuendorf hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After some careless play in the Super Bock FC defense, Pavel Kuttner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andi Jaffke. The Super Bock FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andi Jaffke should have stopped the shot. With his leg Peter-Michael Gerig managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Super Bock FC's Philipp Flüß fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 85 minutes, Berend Urban managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Super Bock FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Berend Urban was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 91stth minute of the game Emanuel Klöffer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Super Bock FC's Andi Jaffke was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Super Bock FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Viktoria Köln.
