Kneißl e.V.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Sönke Kannegiesser was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Kneißl e.V. were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The supporters of FC Midori booed when Kneißl e.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niclas Froehlich didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Kneißl e.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Sascha Berz came free, but Ulrich Fekecs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Jork Plesetz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ilja Kalitta. That made the score 0-3 in the 65 minute of play. In the 69th match minute, FC Midori was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sascha Berz to maneuver through the defense. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ilja Kalitta, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Kneißl e.V. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
