The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ilja Kalitta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niko Schieber in the 2nd minute of the match. After having played for 21 minutes, Ubbo Herbers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Einheit Burg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ubbo Herbers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to SC Einheit Burg getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Silvain Zimmermann hit a great ball. Ilja Kalitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ubbo Herbers in the 26th minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Ubbo Herbers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ilja Kalitta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ilja Kalitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubbo Herbers, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After a defensive mix-up in SC Einheit Burg's zone, Sascha Berz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philipp Landgraf came out of the goal and Sascha Berz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emil Gerhardt's late challenge caught a FC Midori's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emil Gerhardt helped the player get up and apologised. Emil Gerhardt hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ubbo Herbers in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ilja Kalitta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to FC Midori getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Helmut Döring hit a great ball. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Midori's goalkeeper Ilja Kalitta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sascha Berz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute, Jobst Pfeifenberger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Nico Abel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Sascha Berz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Philipp Landgraf was relentless in the 89th minute of the game.
