Detzem's Paulo Punke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Detzem from getting a goal against them. Jork Plesetz struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Paulo Punke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kneißl e.V.. Ulrich Fekecs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermann Grunert in the 25th minute of play. Helmut Leibold kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Kneißl e.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Ulrik Reich came free, but Ulrich Fekecs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Kneißl e.V.'s Vitus Wagner slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paulo Punke. That made the score 1-0 after 33 minutes of play. Detzem's Paulo Punke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Detzem from getting a goal against them. David Kremers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hermann Grunert to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that David Kremers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Punke was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. In the 83rd minute, Detzem's Hermann Grunert ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ulrich Fekecs. Ulrich Fekecs yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. In the 87th minute Helmut Leibold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Punke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
