Spectators: 6000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jörn Schütz kicked off to start the match. Bertram Kreiser hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Bertram Kreiser scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mohamed Kärgel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 12th minute, Maik Lewe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, SC Union Dresden's goalkeeper Edgar Assmann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gunter Gerster. Edgar Assmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jörn Schütz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Justin Fremd in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mohamed Kärgel saved Höxter from getting behind. In the 30th minute, Michael Portner reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edgar Assmann. The goal made the score 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Bertram Kreiser managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Union Dresden's supporters rose to their feet, but Bertram Kreiser was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mohamed Kärgel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 41 minutes into the match, Höxter's goal looked a bit too open when Justin Fremd came free, but Mohamed Kärgel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mohamed Kärgel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertram Kreiser, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. 44 minutes into the match, Justin Fremd had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mohamed Kärgel. Höxter's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Justin Fremd was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The Höxter players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Union Dresden were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Justin Fremd to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Gunter Gerster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Assmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 54 minutes of play, Höxter's Gunter Gerster made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgar Assmann was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Justin Fremd came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the SC Union Dresden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Justin Fremd couldn't finish the play. In the 60th minute Justin Fremd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohamed Kärgel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kim Beier's late challenge caught a Höxter's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kim Beier helped the player get up and apologised. In the 65th match minute, SC Union Dresden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kim Beier to maneuver through the defense. Thomas Wuckel's late challenge caught a Höxter's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Union Dresden's Kim Beier got a free kick in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunter Gerster in the 82nd minute of play forced SC Union Dresden's goalkeeper Edgar Assmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kim Beier hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. 90 minutes into the match, Höxter's goal looked a bit too open when Justin Fremd came free, but Mohamed Kärgel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Höxter's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
