When Sigurd Falke fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Bayern München's protests and gave Sigurd Falke a yellow card for diving instead. After 11 played minutes Fc Bayern München got a freekick which was hit by Sigurd Falke. Jorck Moll made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robert Fernkorn in the 20th minute. In the 20th match minute, Fc Bayern München was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Helko Nikisch to maneuver through the defense. Damien Layher hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Aimé Carlsen, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Bartholomäus Pohlmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Robert Fernkorn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gernot Koellner scored 3-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jorck Moll, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There was no doubt that Fc Bayern München were the better team. Fc Bayern München's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
