Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jacob Spanl started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 3 minutes, Dennis Falke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DJK Rhede and the Vordersteig players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Dennis Falke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Vordersteig booed when DJK Rhede was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Konstantin Szeimies didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 11 minutes, Christen Rehnen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vordersteig's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christen Rehnen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jacob Spanl recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benny Schulz got free with Daniel Korbel in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th minute Götz Krefft shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Herrenkind saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of DJK Rhede booed when Vordersteig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Götz Krefft didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacob Spanl was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 26th minute. DJK Rhede's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After having played for 37 minutes, Benny Schulz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DJK Rhede's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benny Schulz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benjamin Herrenkind made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christen Rehnen in the 39th minute of play. When Benny Schulz came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the DJK Rhede fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benny Schulz couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Jacob Spanl put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Daniel Korbel. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christen Rehnen to make the kick off. After some careless play in the DJK Rhede defense, Matthias Urban kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benjamin Herrenkind. The DJK Rhede fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benjamin Herrenkind should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ralph Ehlers during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 60 played minutes Vordersteig got a freekick which was hit by Ralph Ehlers. If Matthias Urban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christen Rehnen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benny Schulz in the 74th minute of play forced Vordersteig's goalkeeper Daniel Korbel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Korbel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benny Schulz in the 78th minute of play. Richard Assmann kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Jacob Spanl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Korbel having to interfere. Benny Schulz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Daniel Korbel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jacob Spanl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Vordersteig supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vordersteig would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
