In the 8th match minute, TSV Altenmarkt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herbert Veth to maneuver through the defense. If Gregor Fiedler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 13 played minutes, TSV Altenmarkt's Kasimir Zöller shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Oliver Elser came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in TSV Altenmarkt reached it. When TSV Altenmarkt's Moritz Brechbilder in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jakob Dersewski got free with Walther Beuermann in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 41 minutes, Raik Steinmetz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TSV Altenmarkt and the Sauingen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moritz Brechbilder made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Moritz Brechbilder managed to get in a good position for a shot. TSV Altenmarkt's supporters rose to their feet, but Moritz Brechbilder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliver Elser breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reiko Krosigk's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oliver Elser read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute Louis Dickopf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walther Beuermann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Jakob Dersewski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jakob Dersewski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walther Beuermann having to make a save. Walther Beuermann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Louis Dickopf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Berthold Riek-Nagy during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Reiko Krosigk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Oliver Elser made a huge save. 79 minutes into the match, Sauingen's goal looked a bit too open when Moritz Brechbilder came free, but Oliver Elser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sauingen's zone, Reiko Krosigk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oliver Elser came out of the goal and Reiko Krosigk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87thth minute of the game Moritz Brechbilder who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sauingen's Oliver Elser was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Georg Gabe fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TSV Altenmarkt's protests and gave Georg Gabe a yellow card for diving instead. Georg Gabe hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Jakob Dersewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walther Beuermann having to interfere. The TSV Altenmarkt supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing TSV Altenmarkt would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
