The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Vfl-327's Jens Baum got a free kick in the 14th minute. Süd Dunum's Tim Pappert got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 28th match minute, Süd Dunum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselm Witsch to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Winfried Kochert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christoph Kasimir was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. If Thilo Kesper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 38 minutes of play, Vfl-327's Pitt Hornung made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christoph Kasimir was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 43 minutes, Winfried Kochert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vfl-327's supporters crossed their fingers, but Winfried Kochert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hark Bernardi's late challenge caught a Vfl-327's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hark Bernardi helped the player get up and apologised. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Winfried Kochert to make the kick off. Thilo Kesper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Vfl-327 booed when Süd Dunum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andreas Hofer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christoph Kasimir made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pitt Hornung in the 78th minute. Thilo Kesper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wolffram Schneidewind kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. If Tim Pappert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pitt Hornung could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Christoph Kasimir made a huge save. Süd Dunum's Thilo Kesper got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
