The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jack Schwabenthan charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a rather tough play, SV Barkas Frankenberg's Jack Schwabenthan got a free kick in the 5th minute. Jochen Adler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dittmar Schramm's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Rhode's Dittmar Schramm got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Piero Anselm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rhode's Gerhard Pliska got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jochen Adler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dittmar Schramm's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 18th match minute, Rhode was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Welp to maneuver through the defense. Gerhard Pliska sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Rhode booed when SV Barkas Frankenberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Moritz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jochen Adler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dittmar Schramm in the 24th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Piero Anselm got free with Nico Brockmann in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SV Barkas Frankenberg's Jochen Adler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dittmar Schramm in the 34th minute of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Rafael Walleitner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SV Barkas Frankenberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Walleitner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Gerhard Pliska had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jochen Adler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerhard Pliska, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Dittmar Schramm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Rafael Walleitner made the kick off in the second half. If Gerhard Pliska had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the game, Rhode's Dittmar Schramm nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jochen Adler made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Piero Anselm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nico Brockmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Walleitner in the 69th minute of the match. Dittmar Schramm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafael Walleitner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nico Brockmann having to interfere. Rafael Walleitner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jochen Adler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dittmar Schramm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Piero Anselm's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nico Brockmann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind SV Barkas Frankenberg's goalkeeper Jochen Adler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dittmar Schramm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The SV Barkas Frankenberg fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rhode were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
