Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerrit Bruns to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in FC Würzburger Kickers's zone, Gerrit Bruns stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lou Rockstein came out of the goal and Gerrit Bruns tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iso Huber was a little too slow when Hellmut Balterschütz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 1-2. Christof Wagener got a throw-in 88 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Eggert Bleiziffer. A collision led to Sarau getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Bertram Kuypers hit a great ball. FC Würzburger Kickers's Christof Wagener shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 91st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Iso Huber but with some difficulty. Claus Nomayo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Iso Huber made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claus Nomayo got free with Iso Huber in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match was over FC Würzburger Kickers could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sarau throughout the match.
