The audience was convinced that Ned Renkewitz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Slaven Eitenmüller was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. With 45 minutes on the clock, Gottfried Kokott commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Max Josef Döhler, 73 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal.
