The audience was convinced that Bernard Hirz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lee Küffner was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. FC 1701's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sven Gallasch in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lee Küffner saved FC 1701 from getting behind. Jim Lüdemann's late challenge caught a Dresden FSV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in FC 1701's zone, Johannes Bettinger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lee Küffner came out of the goal and Johannes Bettinger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Sven Gallasch took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Lee Küffner to make any attempt to save it.
