TuS Warstein's Mathis Bohn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Volker Bast in the 21st minute of play. A collision led to Monterrey FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Omar Hörholdt hit a great ball. When Volker Bast came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Monterrey FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Volker Bast couldn't finish the play. In the 35th minute, TuS Warstein's Johannes Ecker seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Johannes Ecker the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of TuS Warstein protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Johannes Ecker had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for TuS Warstein! The audience thought a goal was coming when Omar Hörholdt got free with Mathis Bohn in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maximilian Neudorf was the one to do the kick off. Lukas Schiermoch hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Erkan Titz shot a long shot in the 54th minute and a light blocked Mathis Bohn hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erkan Titz in the 71st minute of play forced TuS Warstein's goalkeeper Mathis Bohn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Klaus Raichner during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 73 played minutes TuS Warstein got a freekick which was hit by Klaus Raichner. In the 74th minute of the match Placido Süßmann shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mathis Bohn showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mathis Bohn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Volker Bast in the 76th minute of play. Carl Mauel's late challenge caught a Monterrey FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carl Mauel helped the player get up and apologised. Carl Mauel hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. TuS Warstein's Mathis Bohn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omar Hörholdt in the 81st minute of play. The supporters of Monterrey FC booed when TuS Warstein was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carl Mauel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erkan Titz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mathis Bohn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manfred Vetrano, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. 96 minutes into the match, Federico Ramm had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mathis Bohn. TuS Warstein's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Federico Ramm was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Monterrey FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
