Gerald Fuhl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frieder Burger-Heidger hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Sol Borak was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emanuel Phillip to make the kick off. Lasse Batsch didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wolf Pitsch went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After 56 played minutes ZFC Turbine got a freekick which was hit by Niklas Yilmaz. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerald Fuhl in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. ZFC Turbine's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Phillip was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Drees Fritz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lasse Batsch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wolf Pitsch in the 88th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in ZFC Turbine's zone, Gerald Fuhl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lasse Batsch came out of the goal and Gerald Fuhl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute, Gerald Fuhl got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emanuel Phillip struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Drees Fritz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ZFC Turbine. Many of ZFC Turbine's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. ZFC Turbine may have spent more time on the ball, but Bernau e.V. were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
