After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Johannes-Markus Howeg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brehna's supporters rose to their feet, but Johannes-Markus Howeg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Irvin Willmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 5th minute, Thorbjörn Mies had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After 5 minutes, Edmond Giebenrath mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BSC Airwater and the Brehna players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Schütze in the 9th minute of play forced Brehna's goalkeeper Sven Fechter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benjamin Schütze took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sven Fechter. Sven Fechter dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After having played for 14 minutes, Arne Meyer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brehna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arne Meyer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, BSC Airwater's Niklaus Gutmann broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Arne Meyer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 played minutes Brehna got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Werner. Sven Fechter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alois Juhr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Edmond Giebenrath came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the BSC Airwater fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmond Giebenrath couldn't finish the play. In the 34th minute, Arne Meyer made a precise shot to the right of Irvin Willmann. BSC Airwater's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. A collision led to BSC Airwater getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Dittmar Burger hit a great ball. Arne Meyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Irvin Willmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alois Juhr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven Fechter having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

BSC Airwater's Irvin Willmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Meyer in the 52nd minute of play. Arne Meyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Irvin Willmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Henning's late challenge caught a Brehna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Henning helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Brehna booed when BSC Airwater was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Henning didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Brehna's Martin Birke broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 63rd match minute, BSC Airwater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Henning to maneuver through the defense. Mladen Karwath sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
