When Conny Vogel fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stuttgart's protests and gave Conny Vogel a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Beber booed when Stuttgart was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conny Vogel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wolf Edathy kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Yannik Köppen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niklas Grünschläger was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Conny Vogel showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Achim Liebezeit in the 17th minute of play forced Stuttgart's goalkeeper Volker Böhland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lester Felich during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marvin Kessler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Volker Böhland having to interfere. Niklas Grünschläger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zlatko Rieth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Dimo Haslbeck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heinrich Raab received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Volker Böhland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marvin Kessler kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Conny Vogel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. In the 60th match minute, Beber was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marvin Kessler to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute Kim Düllings shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Volker Böhland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Beber's Niklas Grünschläger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conny Vogel in the 65th minute of play. Niklas Grünschläger came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Stuttgart's Conny Vogel. But to his dismay, Conny Vogel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Volker Böhland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Achim Liebezeit in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Dimo Haslbeck made a precise shot to the right of Volker Böhland. Stuttgart's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1.
