The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Mike Risthaus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roland Bothe's late challenge caught a Darderhöfe FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roland Bothe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th match minute, Schophoven FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Bothe to maneuver through the defense. Schophoven FSV's Meik Mostert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopold Laux in the 8th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Schophoven FSV's zone, Leopold Laux stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Meik Mostert came out of the goal and Leopold Laux tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Gerold Feller got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 15 minutes into the game, Darderhöfe FC's Leopold Laux nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Meik Mostert made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Elard Kroiß took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benno Naehring, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Brandon Korff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elard Kroiß showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benno Naehring in the 24th minute of the match. David Kelber took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Elard Kroiß. Darderhöfe FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexander Kirschner during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Darderhöfe FC booed when Schophoven FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Kirschner didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Leopold Laux had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Benno Naehring shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elard Kroiß saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benno Naehring in the 41st minute of play forced Darderhöfe FC's goalkeeper Elard Kroiß to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerold Feller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, Darderhöfe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benno Naehring came free, but Elard Kroiß reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elard Kroiß made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexander Kirschner in the 49th minute. The Schophoven FSV players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Darderhöfe FC were winning 0-1.

Gerold Feller scored 1-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elard Kroiß, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gerold Feller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Gerold Feller managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meik Mostert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mike Risthaus in the 76th minute of play. Schophoven FSV's Meik Mostert proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Schophoven FSV from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Darderhöfe FC's Meik Mostert threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mike Risthaus, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Leopold Laux came free with the goalkeeper in the 82nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Meik Mostert could save by the left post. Elard Kroiß showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benno Naehring, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. If Benno Naehring had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Benno Naehring notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Darderhöfe FC's Elard Kroiß. Elard Kroiß was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
