In the 5th minute, Melvin Schebesta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Patrick Orth was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The audience was convinced that Melvin Schebesta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patrick Orth was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Klement Baluszynski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Max Klingenbeck having to interfere. SUS Rayen's Max Klingenbeck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tsuneo Obele in the 15th minute of play. If Malte Thamm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melvin Schebesta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Patrick Orth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Ulf Weber managed to get in a good position for a shot. SUS Rayen's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulf Weber was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrick Orth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th minute Malte Thamm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Klingenbeck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tsuneo Obele in the 26th minute of play forced SUS Rayen's goalkeeper Max Klingenbeck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to SUS Rayen getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Immanuel Rüggeberg hit a great ball. After 29 played minutes, Werder Bremen's Alexander Herber shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Max Klingenbeck came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Werder Bremen reached it. Ulf Weber received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Patrick Orth came out and tried to block the shot, but Ulf Weber slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 30th minute. The supporters of Werder Bremen booed when SUS Rayen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christoph Leibinger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Max Klingenbeck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tsuneo Obele in the 41st minute of play. After 42 minutes, Theodor Schejbal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Werder Bremen and the SUS Rayen players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd match minute, Werder Bremen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theodor Schejbal to maneuver through the defense. SUS Rayen's Robert Metz got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tsuneo Obele to make the kick off. Malte Thamm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 53 minutes into the match, SUS Rayen's goal looked a bit too open when Tsuneo Obele came free, but Max Klingenbeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Malte Thamm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Max Klingenbeck made a huge save. After 60 played minutes Werder Bremen got a freekick which was hit by Wolfgang Efe. If Ulf Weber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrick Orth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulf Weber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79thth minute of the game Tsuneo Obele who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SUS Rayen's Max Klingenbeck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 82nd minute, Tsuneo Obele left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Werder Bremen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Melvin Schebesta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Patrick Orth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Ulf Weber had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Patrick Orth. Werder Bremen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ulf Weber was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. SUS Rayen's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
