When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Roswin Buchmann put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Meik Mostert. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albo Bruns in the 29th minute of play forced Schophoven FSV's goalkeeper Meik Mostert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roland Bothe's late challenge caught a Großholthausen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roland Bothe helped the player get up and apologised. 38 minutes into the match, Gerold Feller notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Großholthausen's Dag Kästel. Dag Kästel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Schophoven FSV were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Albo Bruns made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Schophoven FSV's Benno Naehring ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dag Kästel. Dag Kästel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. In the 59thth minute of the game Benno Naehring who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Großholthausen's Dag Kästel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gerold Feller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Dag Kästel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roswin Buchmann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Meik Mostert read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. When Alexander Kirschner came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Schophoven FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander Kirschner couldn't finish the play. The long shot by David Kelber in the 74th minute really tested Dag Kästel's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 74th match minute, Großholthausen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Friedemann Lung to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerold Feller got free with Dag Kästel in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benno Naehring sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benno Naehring received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Dag Kästel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Dag Kästel managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Schophoven FSV's Benno Naehring fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Roswin Buchmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Schophoven FSV's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
