After a rather tough play, Besitz's Konstantin Lammers got a free kick in the 5th minute. Dag Kästel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benni Butterbach in the 7th minute of play. Oliver Josef Bismarck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dag Kästel having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Großholthausen's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Josef Bismarck came free, but Dag Kästel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Besitz's Oliver Josef Bismarck got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute Herbert Fresow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dag Kästel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Mike Weigelt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Großholthausen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Besitz the free kick. Mike Weigelt kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Björn Koppers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roswin Buchmann went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Claude Badla charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Björn Koppers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roswin Buchmann in the 32nd minute. In the 37th minute, Benni Butterbach got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benni Butterbach's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dag Kästel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Oliver Josef Bismarck blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dag Kästel having to make a save. Oliver Josef Bismarck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dag Kästel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Großholthausen defense, Benni Butterbach kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dag Kästel. The Großholthausen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dag Kästel should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Dag Kästel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Josef Bismarck in the 54th minute of play. Großholthausen's Dag Kästel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Großholthausen from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oliver Josef Bismarck in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dag Kästel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Oliver Josef Bismarck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Kasper Görtz lost his temper 92 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Claude Badla was shown his second yellow card after 99 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Besitz's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
