Stephan Engels showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Thielemann in the 11th minute of the match. Edwin Stotz succeeded in the game's 12th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. In the 17th minute, Hans Hertel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, FC Energie Cottbus's goalkeeper Stephan Engels had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edwin Stotz. If Hans Hertel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edwin Stotz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephan Engels having to interfere. After having played for 32 minutes, Philipp Inderhees managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Keulos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Philipp Inderhees was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Philipp Inderhees struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Stephan Engels didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Keulos. Stephan Engels made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans Hertel in the 35th minute of play. Hans Hertel hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. FC Energie Cottbus's Stephan Engels proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save FC Energie Cottbus from getting a goal against them. Hans Hertel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Peter Thielemann came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Keulos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Thielemann couldn't finish the play. Maximilian Spörl kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Stephan Engels acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 43rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Peter Thielemann. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Martin Döbbe made a kick off. Maximilian Spörl kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Reinhart Buschlinger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Hanns Diller made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in FC Energie Cottbus's zone, Peter Thielemann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stephan Engels came out of the goal and Peter Thielemann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stephan Engels stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Philipp Inderhees's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Keulos's goalkeeper Hanns Diller, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 69th minute Peter Thielemann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stephan Engels saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edwin Stotz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stephan Engels having to make a save. Edwin Stotz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Stephan Engels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Detlef Ruben hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Edwin Stotz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Keulos's supporters rose to their feet, but Edwin Stotz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stephan Engels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peter Thielemann in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stephan Engels prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 87 minutes into the match, FC Energie Cottbus's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Thielemann came free, but Stephan Engels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Keulos's Hanns Diller got control of the ball when Reinhart Buschlinger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hans Hertel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephan Engels having to interfere. Stephan Engels showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Philipp Inderhees in the 95th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Keulos had played much better football throughout.
