The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stefan Lelke came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by TUS LEMFÖRDE's Valentin Frosch. But to his dismay, Valentin Frosch quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 7 minutes into the game, Rico Brüggmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sondershausen FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave TUS LEMFÖRDE the free kick. Rico Brüggmann hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Marko Öhlmann had several of the Sondershausen FSV's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 12 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Stefan Lelke as he didn't even see the shot coming. Sondershausen FSV's Didier Starke got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ronaldinho Diebold fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sondershausen FSV's protests and gave Ronaldinho Diebold a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th minute, one of Sondershausen FSV:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sondershausen FSV. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marko Öhlmann in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stefan Lelke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 25th minute, Ekin Sauter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the game, Sondershausen FSV's Didier Starke nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jakobus Schwang made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The audience was convinced that Marko Öhlmann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stefan Lelke was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sondershausen FSV's goalkeeper Stefan Lelke, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Malte Gnant fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sondershausen FSV's protests and gave Malte Gnant a yellow card for diving instead. Valentin Frosch's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 46thth minute, Stefan Lelke skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The Sondershausen FSV fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when Sondershausen FSV's Stanislaw Pistauer looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

After having played for 54 minutes, Didier Starke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sondershausen FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Didier Starke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 58 minutes of play, Sondershausen FSV's Didier Starke made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jakobus Schwang was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, TUS LEMFÖRDE's Jakobus Schwang got control of the ball when Stanislaw Pistauer tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didier Starke in the 64th minute of play forced TUS LEMFÖRDE's goalkeeper Jakobus Schwang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Sondershausen FSV booed when TUS LEMFÖRDE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justus Tremmel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Sondershausen FSV's Malte Gnant got a free kick in the 77th minute. Didier Starke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jakobus Schwang having to interfere. Valentin Frosch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Sondershausen FSV's Didier Starke ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jakobus Schwang. Jakobus Schwang yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-5. Didier Starke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Jakobus Schwang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sondershausen FSV's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
