With 7 minutes on the clock, Marco Pisch commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Keulos! Johann Hinz charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Johann Hinz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edwin Stotz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donald Gaisenkersting read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Edwin Stotz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Donald Gaisenkersting was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Edwin Stotz struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Donald Gaisenkersting didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Keulos. Donald Gaisenkersting made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from York Diebold in the 39th minute of play. When Philipp Inderhees came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Keulos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Philipp Inderhees couldn't finish the play. Philipp Inderhees received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Donald Gaisenkersting tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FC Wangen booed when Keulos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philipp Inderhees didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Mike Ballstein managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Wangen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mike Ballstein was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Klaus-Dieter Werkmeister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hanns Diller having to interfere. Keulos's Hanns Diller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike Ballstein in the 55th minute of play. Keulos's Philipp Inderhees suffered a sore thigh after 60 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 60 minutes, Klaus-Dieter Werkmeister mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Wangen and the Keulos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Keulos made a substitution. Klaus Diergardt replaced Philipp Inderhees. Klaus-Dieter Werkmeister hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute of the match, Edwin Stotz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Donald Gaisenkersting was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Klaus Diergardt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Hertel in the 74th minute of play forced FC Wangen's goalkeeper Donald Gaisenkersting to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Klaus Diergardt's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Donald Gaisenkersting skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 78th minute Klaus Diergardt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donald Gaisenkersting saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edwin Stotz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mike Ballstein scored 3-2 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hanns Diller, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Donald Gaisenkersting made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Edwin Stotz sent off a good shot on target. In the 89th minute, Klaus-Dieter Werkmeister hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 96 minutes into the match, FC Wangen's goalkeeper Donald Gaisenkersting had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Klaus Diergardt. Donald Gaisenkersting took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Hertel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The FC Wangen players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
