Guy Bader showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harald Wolf, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. A collision led to Sektion Birne getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Anjo Knoll hit a great ball. Luis Rothenbach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luis Rothenbach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bartolomeo Weißbrot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kuno Lembeck in the 12th minute of play. With his leg Bartolomeo Weißbrot managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Sektion Birne's Luis Rothenbach fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Harald Wolf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The attack was good, but when Günther Schächterle in the 22nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 39th minute Kuno Lembeck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bartolomeo Weißbrot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mike Raubold struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Guy Bader didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SuS Scheidingen.

Kuno Lembeck might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bartolomeo Weißbrot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kuno Lembeck ran back to his position shaking his head. 57 minutes into the match, SuS Scheidingen's goal looked a bit too open when Kuno Lembeck came free, but Bartolomeo Weißbrot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kuno Lembeck in the 70th minute of play forced SuS Scheidingen's goalkeeper Bartolomeo Weißbrot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sektion Birne's Guy Bader played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harald Wolf in the 77th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sektion Birne's Leonid Boshold got a free kick in the 78th minute. Bartolomeo Weißbrot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kuno Lembeck in the 84th minute of the match. After 87 minutes, Oskar Schumm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sektion Birne and the SuS Scheidingen players grew even worse after the yellow card.
