Olav Gross showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustav Segmüller, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustav Segmüller in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olav Gross saved Gostingen from getting behind. In the 9th match minute, Gostingen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Irvin Wittmann to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Gustav Segmüller put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Olav Gross. Olav Gross took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustav Segmüller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustav Segmüller's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olav Gross read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Markus Bothner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anton Linke could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Alfons Lücker made a huge save. Gostingen's Caspar Heim suffered a concussion after 26 minutes and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gustav Segmüller during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience was convinced that Gustav Segmüller's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olav Gross was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. If Gustav Segmüller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, SV 09 Staßfurt e.V.'s Ludo Höfgen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Olav Gross. Olav Gross yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Gustav Segmüller had several of the Gostingen's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 94 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-4 score and a disappointed Olav Gross as he didn't even see the shot coming. SV 09 Staßfurt e.V.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
