André Salisch charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of Hesselte booed when G A M E O V E R was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Salisch didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Uli Burmeister managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Hesselte's Wim Winkler fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Hesselte getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Holger Gehling hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Hesselte's Wim Winkler slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Uli Burmeister. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. Wim Winkler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uli Burmeister having to interfere. If Wim Winkler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abdelaziz Sanio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Grundmann in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hesselte's Pepe Friedrich got a free kick in the 31st minute. 33 minutes into the match, David Guttenberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abdelaziz Sanio. Hesselte's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Guttenberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Pepe Friedrich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uli Burmeister having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 45th minute by Immanuel Sarimski got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Bruno Grundmann made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Hesselte's Abdelaziz Sanio got control of the ball when Kai-Uwe Vegelahn tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mischa Obele kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. David Guttenberg's late challenge caught a Hesselte's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Guttenberg helped the player get up and apologised. David Guttenberg kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Wim Winkler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Uli Burmeister was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 78th match minute, Hesselte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pepe Friedrich to maneuver through the defense. Pepe Friedrich kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. David Guttenberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Abdelaziz Sanio made a huge save. David Guttenberg took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abdelaziz Sanio. Abdelaziz Sanio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Wim Winkler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hesselte's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Winkler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Uli Burmeister breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 96th minute, Immanuel Sarimski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. G A M E O V E R's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
