In the 11th minute, Frank Leichsenring ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Niko Frijia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Martin Bretschneider received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Winfried Gref tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Fred Kummel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Niko Frijia. Fred Kummel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. When Patrick Oliver Kurbjuweit fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Baier Leverkusen's protests and gave Patrick Oliver Kurbjuweit a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th match minute, Baier Leverkusen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Oliver Kurbjuweit to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Leichsenring got free with Niko Frijia in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 44 played minutes Baier Leverkusen got a freekick which was hit by Mesut Knopf. Baier Leverkusen's Patrick Oliver Kurbjuweit got his second yellow card of the match in the 47th minute. The referee ordered Patrick Oliver Kurbjuweit off the ground. Patrick Oliver Kurbjuweit hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

Baier Leverkusen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 60 played minutes Baier Leverkusen got a freekick which was hit by Martin Bretschneider. In the 61st minute Philip Gögge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niko Frijia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niko Frijia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolai Wurfel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Niko Frijia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Baier Leverkusen's Niko Frijia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philip Gögge in the 94th minute of play. Niko Frijia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Philip Gögge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nordholt FSV's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
