Harry Berssenbrügge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th match minute, 1.FC Fulda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Berssenbrügge to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Niederheuslingen FSV booed when 1.FC Fulda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bert Chakravorty didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edo Schultz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Norbert Gyarmati had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 43 minutes, Hugh Weinmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1.FC Fulda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugh Weinmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Harry Berssenbrügge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
