The Düddingen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julius Dierking should have stopped the shot. Alfonso Lendemans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 0-2 became the score in the 34th minute when Rasmus Boxmann elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Rasmus Boxmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Düddingen's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Lendemans came free, but Julius Dierking reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

In the 59thth minute of the game Rasmus Boxmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Düddingen's Julius Dierking was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 60 minutes into the game, Axel Stollenwerk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Düddingen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Benteler FC the free kick. In the 60th match minute, Düddingen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Stollenwerk to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rasmus Boxmann in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julius Dierking prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rasmus Boxmann in the 63rd minute of play forced Düddingen's goalkeeper Julius Dierking to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Düddingen's Julius Dierking proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Düddingen from getting a goal against them. If Jörg Illing had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rasmus Boxmann came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Benteler FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rasmus Boxmann couldn't finish the play. After 85 played minutes Benteler FC got a freekick which was hit by Karl Böcker. 87 minutes into the match, Benteler FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jörg Illing came free, but Hasso Rauh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benteler FC's Hasso Rauh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jörg Illing in the 88th minute of play. Hasso Rauh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Edinger in the 91st minute of play. After some careless play in the Düddingen defense, Alfonso Lendemans kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julius Dierking. The Düddingen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julius Dierking should have stopped the shot. When the final whistle sounded Benteler FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Düddingen.
