Surmühl
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the match, Surmühl's goal looked a bit too open when Timotheus Bednar came free, but Björn Becker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. VfB Stuttgart's Wolfram Malz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save VfB Stuttgart from getting a goal against them. Oliver Memmert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 21st minute, Rocky Berger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 23 played minutes Holder Hafner rounded VfB Stuttgart's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Björn Becker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timotheus Bednar in the 25th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Timotheus Bednar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VfB Stuttgart's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Surmühl the free kick. After a rather tough play, VfB Stuttgart's Timotheus Bednar got a free kick in the 36th minute. After some careless play in the VfB Stuttgart defense, Oliver Memmert kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wolfram Malz. The VfB Stuttgart fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wolfram Malz should have stopped the shot. Holder Hafner blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wolfram Malz having to make a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Holder Hafner to make the kick off. A collision led to VfB Stuttgart getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Markus Graefe hit a great ball. In the 52nd minute of the match Gerd Thein shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wolfram Malz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 56 minutes into the match, VfB Stuttgart's goal looked a bit too open when Holder Hafner came free, but Wolfram Malz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57 played minutes VfB Stuttgart got a freekick which was hit by Rocky Berger. Silvester Faber struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Björn Becker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VfB Stuttgart. After a rather tough play, Surmühl's Jeremy Gondro got a free kick in the 68th minute. VfB Stuttgart's Paolo Zebrowski got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hartmut Biermann kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After 72 minutes, Chris Lenßen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VfB Stuttgart and the Surmühl players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Surmühl booed when VfB Stuttgart was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chris Lenßen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Surmühl's Holder Hafner nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wolfram Malz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. The Surmühl fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Surmühl's Oliver Memmert looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. During the 79th minute of the match Chris Lenßen completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Chris Lenßen a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Chris Lenßen hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Holder Hafner in the 86th minute of play forced VfB Stuttgart's goalkeeper Wolfram Malz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 91 minutes, Holder Hafner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Surmühl's supporters crossed their fingers, but Holder Hafner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Surmühl had played much better football throughout.
