Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ernst Weiß took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 5th minute, Silvester Faber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Silvester Faber could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Flavio Greth made a huge save. In the 18th minute, VfB Stuttgart's Timotheus Bednar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Flavio Greth. Flavio Greth yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvester Faber got free with Flavio Greth in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Timotheus Bednar, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 23 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Flavio Greth was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Rocky Berger notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of fenerbahce's Flavio Greth. Flavio Greth was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Ernst Weiß managed to get in a good position for a shot. fenerbahce's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernst Weiß was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wolfram Malz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Timotheus Bednar came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the VfB Stuttgart fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timotheus Bednar couldn't finish the play. Flavio Greth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timotheus Bednar, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 38 minutes into the game, Rocky Berger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VfB Stuttgart's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave fenerbahce the free kick. Rocky Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Ernst Weiß fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wolfram Malz having to interfere. Flavio Greth was a little too slow when Timotheus Bednar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 3-0. VfB Stuttgart's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Paolo Zebrowski in the 50th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Timotheus Bednar was the one to do the kick off. Rocky Berger hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Flavio Greth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rocky Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Timotheus Bednar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flavio Greth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvester Faber in the 61st minute of play. Ernst Weiß's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wolfram Malz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, VfB Stuttgart's goal looked a bit too open when Ernst Weiß came free, but Wolfram Malz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silvester Faber in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flavio Greth prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pierre Bode got free with Wolfram Malz in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 91 minutes, Donald Zorn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the fenerbahce and the VfB Stuttgart players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of VfB Stuttgart booed when fenerbahce was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donald Zorn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavio Greth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Timotheus Bednar's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the fenerbahce players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for VfB Stuttgart.
