To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 12 minutes into the match, Bayreuth's goal looked a bit too open when Bernd Bernstein came free, but Aristide Stock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paul Morawitz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aristide Stock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deizisau reached it. In the 72nd match minute, Bayreuth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ahmed Meckenstock to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Paul Morawitz took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Aristide Stock to make any attempt to save it. In the 80th minute of the match, Bernd Bernstein got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aristide Stock was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Deizisau's Paul Morawitz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aristide Stock. That made the score 0-6 after 89 minutes of play. The Bayreuth fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Deizisau were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
