Leik Rieger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Mirko Borgwardt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 44 played minutes FC Groucho got a freekick which was hit by Wolfgang Kieß. Meinolf Haupt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yann Loos charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 47th minute, Meinolf Haupt fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

During the 86th minute of the match Meinolf Haupt completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Meinolf Haupt a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of FC Groucho booed when Yusufstinktnachkacke FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position.
