A hard shot by Istvan Oberländer from long distance, 11 minutes into the match, got Stephan Prielhofer's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 13th minute, Rochus Bierkamp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hoykenkamp's Stephan Prielhofer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Hoykenkamp from getting a goal against them. Stephan Prielhofer made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Rando Petters sent off a good shot on target. Ole Niklas scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gernot Bullinger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rando Petters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stephan Prielhofer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wenzel Heintz in the 27th minute of play. Rochus Bierkamp kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 30th match minute, Hoykenkamp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gottlieb Schröder to maneuver through the defense. Stephan Prielhofer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wenzel Heintz in the 34th minute of play. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Marburg 19's goalkeeper Gernot Bullinger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half Hoykenkamp were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wenzel Heintz to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Hoykenkamp booed when FC Marburg 19 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hasse Janning didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gernot Bullinger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ole Niklas's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. When Rando Petters came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the FC Marburg 19 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rando Petters couldn't finish the play. After 72 played minutes Hoykenkamp got a freekick which was hit by Rochus Bierkamp. Wenzel Heintz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Stephan Prielhofer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to FC Marburg 19 getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Siegfried Prinz hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Ole Niklas took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Gernot Bullinger to make any attempt to save it. Hoykenkamp's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
