Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jannick Schockenhoff started the match with the kick off. Malte Hecht showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rainer Staiger, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Rainer Staiger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Holger Helbig charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Holger Helbig the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th match minute, Rönnbaum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Holger Helbig to maneuver through the defense. Max Josef Appel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Pekko Weidle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Rönnbaum's zone, Jannick Schockenhoff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pekko Weidle came out of the goal and Jannick Schockenhoff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pekko Weidle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jannick Schockenhoff in the 23rd minute of the match. Jannick Schockenhoff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pekko Weidle having to interfere. 30 minutes in the game, Chris Wald dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Max Josef Appel notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Rönnbaum's Pekko Weidle. Pekko Weidle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hans Dieckmann's late challenge caught a Rönnbaum's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hans Dieckmann helped the player get up and apologised. When Rainer Staiger came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Rönnbaum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rainer Staiger couldn't finish the play. Hans Dieckmann got his second yellow card in the match during the 37th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to 1. FCB getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Hans Dieckmann hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Rönnbaum's Wilhelm Boes got a free kick in the 40th minute. After having played for 42 minutes, Chris Wald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rönnbaum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chris Wald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half 1. FCB were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Rainer Staiger made the kick off in the second half. Pekko Weidle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugen Remmers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Wald in the 55th minute of play forced 1. FCB's goalkeeper Malte Hecht to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Malte Hecht showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rainer Staiger, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Rönnbaum's goal looked a bit too open when Max Josef Appel came free, but Pekko Weidle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jannick Schockenhoff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in 1. FCB fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Rönnbaum a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gernot Schavier, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of 1. FCB's Malte Hecht. 1-1. The supporters of 1. FCB booed when Rönnbaum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingolf Walser didn't get a good kick on the ball.
