After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Flemming Fochler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hüttenheim FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Flemming Fochler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernst Bernheim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kim Bugera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Ernst Bernheim made a huge save. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flemming Fochler couldn't finish the play. Flemming Fochler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernst Bernheim having to interfere. The supporters of Karakartal1983 booed when Hüttenheim FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joakim Ohme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hüttenheim FSV's Kersten Piter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lukas Keilbach in the 43rd minute of play. Ernst Bernheim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kim Bugera in the 60th minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, Hermann Hermsdorf was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Karakartal1983's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hüttenheim FSV the free kick. The Karakartal1983 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Ernst Bernheim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flemming Fochler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kim Bugera in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernst Bernheim saved Karakartal1983 from getting behind. In the 87th match minute, Karakartal1983 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulf Poser to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute Flemming Fochler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernst Bernheim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Karakartal1983's goal looked a bit too open when Flemming Fochler came free, but Ernst Bernheim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
