Friedrichstadt FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Martin Heffungs 5 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carsten Zeil in the 8th minute of play forced Gemmerich FSV's goalkeeper Cosmo Hoeft to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Gemmerich FSV booed when Friedrichstadt FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaspar Hebel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Volker Schwenke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute Viggo Riester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosmo Hoeft saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Heffungs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Ursus Babel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Friedrichstadt FC's Ursus Babel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Friedrichstadt FC from getting a goal against them. If Elmar Straubinger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Martin Heffungs left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gemmerich FSV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Casimir Krughöfer received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ursus Babel came out and tried to block the shot, but Casimir Krughöfer slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 26th minute. After a rather tough play, Friedrichstadt FC's Gedeon Luscher got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 32nd match minute, Gemmerich FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elmar Straubinger to maneuver through the defense. With 33 minutes on the clock, Aziz Knappe commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Aziz Knappe kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gemmerich FSV's zone, Artur Durry stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cosmo Hoeft came out of the goal and Artur Durry tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd match minute, Gemmerich FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Merkel to maneuver through the defense. 44 minutes into the match, Gemmerich FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Durry came free, but Cosmo Hoeft reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 45 played minutes Gemmerich FSV got a freekick which was hit by Casimir Krughöfer. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Friedrichstadt FC's goalkeeper Ursus Babel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Viggo Riester made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Gemmerich FSV's Balduin Andrich got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albert Köbler got free with Cosmo Hoeft in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cosmo Hoeft made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Albert Köbler sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Gemmerich FSV's Cosmo Hoeft got control of the ball when Albert Köbler tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Friedrichstadt FC's Viggo Riester in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gemmerich FSV's goalie prevented a goal. 64 minutes into the game, Viggo Riester recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cosmo Hoeft. Viggo Riester showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. A collision led to Friedrichstadt FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Leo Borak hit a great ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cosmo Hoeft showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Leo Borak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cosmo Hoeft showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viggo Riester in the 77th minute of the match. Ursus Babel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casimir Krughöfer in the 78th minute of play. Viggo Riester recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Friedrichstadt FC's Carsten Zeil got a free kick in the 85th minute. If Viggo Riester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Casimir Krughöfer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gemmerich FSV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Gemmerich FSV's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
