Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Karl Flug got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute, Volkmar Greilich fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Heinz Kerschbaumer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Volkmar Greilich in the 6th minute of the match. Eidur Seppmann's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Heinz Kerschbaumer firmly grabbed it by the left post. A collision led to Hertha BSC II getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Esau Granitza hit a great ball. Volkmar Greilich took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Heinz Kerschbaumer. Heinz Kerschbaumer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. If Eidur Seppmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20thth minute of the game Volkmar Greilich who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hertha BSC II's Heinz Kerschbaumer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 22nd minute, Roland Yilmaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute Karl Flug shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christof Zeh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eidur Seppmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The long shot by Justin Feiert in the 31st minute really tested Heinz Kerschbaumer's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Karl Flug got free in front of the goal in the 34th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Christof Zeh was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The supporters of Hertha BSC II booed when Roter Stern Leipzig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quentin Brantwein didn't get a good kick on the ball. Heinz Kerschbaumer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Volkmar Greilich in the 43rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Volkmar Greilich in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Heinz Kerschbaumer saved Hertha BSC II from getting behind. With his leg Heinz Kerschbaumer managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when Roter Stern Leipzig's Eidur Seppmann fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Volkmar Greilich stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Moritz Legler hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute Volkmar Greilich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heinz Kerschbaumer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Volkmar Greilich's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Heinz Kerschbaumer was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Hertha BSC II were furious when Manuel Hanstein was red carded, 61 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 62nd minute, Manuel Hanstein hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Heinz Kerschbaumer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quentin Brantwein, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. A collision led to Hertha BSC II getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Grischa Bonhoeffer hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Eidur Seppmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roter Stern Leipzig's supporters rose to their feet, but Eidur Seppmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Heinz Kerschbaumer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Volkmar Greilich's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Heinz Kerschbaumer was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godo Dormuth in the 72nd minute of play forced Hertha BSC II's goalkeeper Heinz Kerschbaumer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Justin Feiert kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Hertha BSC II's goal looked a bit too open when Volkmar Greilich came free, but Heinz Kerschbaumer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Godo Dormuth notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Hertha BSC II's Heinz Kerschbaumer. Heinz Kerschbaumer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Roter Stern Leipzig's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
