Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Chris Koester kicked off to start the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Gerold Wilhelm managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The referee ignored SV 05 Meckenheim's protests and gave Jochen Majohr a yellow card for diving instead. Jochen Majohr kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Conni Sieling was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 7th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Raphael Dittrich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, SV 05 Meckenheim's goal looked a bit too open when Gerold Wilhelm came free, but Fritz Rudolf Woyke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 14 minutes, Raphael Dittrich managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After a rather tough play, SV 05 Meckenheim's Jochen Majohr got a free kick in the 35th minute. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by SV 05 Meckenheim's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Conni Sieling was slow to take the kick. During this time Sedelsberg's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Karel Granold got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fritz Rudolf Woyke quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Raphael Dittrich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerold Wilhelm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gerold Wilhelm was the one to do the kick off. Sedelsberg's Raphael Dittrich got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in SV 05 Meckenheim's zone, Raphael Dittrich stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fritz Rudolf Woyke came out of the goal and Raphael Dittrich tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gerold Wilhelm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fritz Rudolf Woyke having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karel Granold in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fritz Rudolf Woyke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gerold Wilhelm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fritz Rudolf Woyke having to interfere. Fritz Rudolf Woyke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gerold Wilhelm's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Detlev Heßmann's late challenge caught a Sedelsberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Detlev Heßmann helped the player get up and apologised. In the 76th minute, Conni Sieling sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SV 05 Meckenheim's Fritz Rudolf Woyke didn't even have to move. Raphael Dittrich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Gerold Wilhelm sped through SV 05 Meckenheim's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fritz Rudolf Woyke. When Gerold Wilhelm came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Sedelsberg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerold Wilhelm couldn't finish the play. After 89 minutes of play, Sedelsberg's Gerold Wilhelm made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fritz Rudolf Woyke was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael Dittrich in the 93rd minute of play forced SV 05 Meckenheim's goalkeeper Fritz Rudolf Woyke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Karel Granold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Gerold Wilhelm's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fritz Rudolf Woyke was relentless in the 98th minute of the game.
