In the 29th minute, Markus Hanke made a precise shot to the right of Ursus Pfeffer. SV Wehen Wiesbaden's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Markus Hanke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jo Jahn made a kick off. Lothar Scharpe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ersan Weidlandt in the 51st minute of the match. When the match clock showed 96 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Ersan Weidlandt sped through Aufurth FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lothar Scharpe. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Aufurth FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
