After a defensive mix-up in Klein Heins FC's zone, Alfred Goetsch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Heimo Trener came out of the goal and Alfred Goetsch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ahmed Koeppen charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ahmed Koeppen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ahmed Koeppen hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute, Harro Bentz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Emmerich Pflüger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borussia Dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but Emmerich Pflüger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Heimo Trener breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute Harro Bentz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heimo Trener saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Harro Bentz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Heimo Trener. Klein Heins FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Harro Bentz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 34th minute, Helge Strebl reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Folke Arnim. The goal made the score 1-2. Borussia Dortmund's Folke Arnim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Borussia Dortmund from getting a goal against them. Christoph Auerbach was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 40 minutes into the match. The referee gave Klein Heins FC a penalty, 42 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Leonardo Koser, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Borussia Dortmund's Folke Arnim. 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Harro Bentz to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Klein Heins FC booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfred Goetsch didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Helge Strebl came free, but Folke Arnim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Folke Arnim showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Folke Arnim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Helge Strebl in the 74th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harro Bentz in the 76th minute of play forced Klein Heins FC's goalkeeper Heimo Trener to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Berti Rogatty charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Berti Rogatty the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Berti Rogatty got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute, Kai Rau ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Folke Arnim was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Emmerich Pflüger struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Heimo Trener didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borussia Dortmund. After 94 played minutes, Klein Heins FC's Jacob Achterdeich shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Folke Arnim came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Klein Heins FC reached it. The Klein Heins FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
