Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Markus Hanke started the match with the kick off. When Dietrich Roye fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC LAUENBURG's protests and gave Dietrich Roye a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th match minute, FC LAUENBURG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dietrich Roye to maneuver through the defense. In the 8thth minute of the game Markus Hanke who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC LAUENBURG's Franz Hormes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Nenad Kapelle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Aufurth FC's Erik Genz got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 29th minute, Otmar Reus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lothar Scharpe was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Markus Hanke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute, Edbert Darmstadt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aufurth FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Otmar Reus stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute, Aufurth FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nenad Kapelle fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 64 minutes into the match, Aufurth FC's goal looked a bit too open when Otmar Reus came free, but Lothar Scharpe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Markus Hanke scored 3-1 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franz Hormes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nenad Kapelle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lothar Scharpe having to interfere. With a little luck, Aufurth FC's Lothar Scharpe got control of the ball when Nenad Kapelle tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edbert Darmstadt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Otmar Reus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Lothar Scharpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Markus Hanke in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franz Hormes saved FC LAUENBURG from getting behind. Franz Hormes came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Aufurth FC's Markus Hanke. But to his dismay, Markus Hanke quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Markus Hanke in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franz Hormes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 95 played minutes FC LAUENBURG got a freekick which was hit by Christoph Berge. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Aufurth FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC LAUENBURG had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
