After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Benny Leyh managed to get in a good position for a shot. ESKİSEHİR SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Benny Leyh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ole Dirkes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eckart Lohmiller in the 7th minute of play forced SC Preußen Münster's goalkeeper Ole Dirkes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erwin Flamme in the 9th minute of play forced ESKİSEHİR SK's goalkeeper Norbert Storr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Preußen Münster's Erwin Flamme got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wim Gonder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Norbert Storr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Norbert Storr showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erwin Flamme in the 28th minute of the match. Michael Klingenbeck kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, SC Preußen Münster's Edzard Bar tried to score from far away in the 30th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the game, SC Preußen Münster's Wim Gonder nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Norbert Storr made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Wim Gonder took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Norbert Storr. Norbert Storr dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 42nd minute, Rodolfo Usbeck made a precise shot to the right of Norbert Storr. ESKİSEHİR SK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3.

In the 52nd minute, Wim Gonder got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 54 minutes into the game, Wim Gonder was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Preußen Münster's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ESKİSEHİR SK the free kick. In the 54th match minute, SC Preußen Münster was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wim Gonder to maneuver through the defense. Erwin Flamme's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Norbert Storr firmly grabbed it by the left post. Erwin Flamme blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Norbert Storr having to make a save. If Wim Gonder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erwin Flamme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Norbert Storr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, ESKİSEHİR SK's Norbert Storr got control of the ball when Wim Gonder tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, SC Preußen Münster's Rodolfo Usbeck got a free kick in the 67th minute. After recieving a nice pass, ESKİSEHİR SK's Jo Bozkurt tried to score from far away in the 67th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. ESKİSEHİR SK's Benny Leyh got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Norbert Storr made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Erwin Flamme sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th minute, Wim Gonder fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erwin Flamme got free with Norbert Storr in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Eckart Lohmiller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Wim Gonder managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Preußen Münster's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Gonder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The SC Preußen Münster fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when SC Preußen Münster's Erwin Flamme looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to ESKİSEHİR SK getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Wanja Thomas hit a great ball. Erwin Flamme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wim Gonder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norbert Storr having to interfere. Wim Gonder might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Norbert Storr. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wim Gonder ran back to his position shaking his head. Wanja Thomas hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. SC Preußen Münster were awarded a corner in the 96th minute after ESKİSEHİR SK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edzard Bar took the corner. Erwin Flamme was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. When the match was over SC Preußen Münster could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ESKİSEHİR SK throughout the match.
