Hellmut Beckers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benny Leyh, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Hellmut Beckers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eckart Lohmiller's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute Benny Leyh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hellmut Beckers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th match minute, Störmthal Red Sox was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Curt Selle to maneuver through the defense. Benny Leyh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Volker Steffel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Norbert Storr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Störmthal Red Sox's Chris Blaum suffered a concussion after 80 minutes and had to leave the field. During the 80th minute of the match Michael Klingenbeck completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Michael Klingenbeck a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, ESKİSEHİR SK's Michael Klingenbeck got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 88th minute, Nemo Aden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 90 played minutes ESKİSEHİR SK got a freekick which was hit by Jo Bozkurt. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ansgar Hajduk got free with Norbert Storr in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Störmthal Red Sox's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
