If Timur Dülberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joerg-Uwe Marsing was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Benny Leyh capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Benny Leyh really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. ESKİSEHİR SK's Norbert Storr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timur Dülberg in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Ergün Messerschmitt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ESKİSEHİR SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Adelheidsdorf FSV the free kick. The supporters of Adelheidsdorf FSV booed when ESKİSEHİR SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ergün Messerschmitt didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eckart Lohmiller made a kick off. Benny Leyh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joerg-Uwe Marsing read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Eckart Lohmiller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joerg-Uwe Marsing having to interfere. Oliver Pässler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Norbert Storr made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timur Dülberg in the 66th minute of play forced ESKİSEHİR SK's goalkeeper Norbert Storr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jo Bozkurt placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Oliver Pässler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Oliver Pässler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Norbert Storr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
