Ole Dirkes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leif Volz, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 8 minutes into the match, SC Preußen Münster's goal looked a bit too open when Detmar Wirtz came free, but Ole Dirkes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wim Gonder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Nico Brübach tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Erwin Flamme ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nico Brübach was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Rüdiger Mohr's late challenge caught a SV Wehen Wiesbaden's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rüdiger Mohr helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd minute, Rüdiger Mohr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the match, SC Preußen Münster's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Gaede came free, but Ole Dirkes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leif Volz in the 25th minute of play forced SC Preußen Münster's goalkeeper Ole Dirkes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, SV Wehen Wiesbaden's goalkeeper Nico Brübach had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erwin Flamme. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leif Volz in the 33rd minute of play forced SC Preußen Münster's goalkeeper Ole Dirkes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Wim Gonder got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute, Leif Volz made a precise shot to the right of Ole Dirkes. SC Preußen Münster's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Holger Riemann's late challenge caught a SC Preußen Münster's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Holger Riemann helped the player get up and apologised. After 55 played minutes SV Wehen Wiesbaden got a freekick which was hit by Holger Riemann. Erwin Flamme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wim Gonder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nico Brübach having to interfere. Detmar Wirtz hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Wim Gonder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leif Volz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ole Dirkes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Preußen Münster's Ole Dirkes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save SC Preußen Münster from getting a goal against them. SC Preußen Münster's Ole Dirkes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Gaede in the 77th minute of play. Ole Dirkes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandro Gaede's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Leif Volz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ole Dirkes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rodolfo Usbeck fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Preußen Münster's protests and gave Rodolfo Usbeck a yellow card for diving instead. Sandro Gaede sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Preußen Münster's Edzard Bar couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 90th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SV Wehen Wiesbaden. Toralf Berninger charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Toralf Berninger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to SV Wehen Wiesbaden getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Toralf Berninger hit a great ball. Leif Volz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
