Wanja Thomas hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the match, Niederholsten's goalkeeper Friedrich Laier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benny Leyh. With a little luck, Niederholsten's Friedrich Laier got control of the ball when Benny Leyh tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 31 played minutes ESKİSEHİR SK got a freekick which was hit by Jo Bozkurt. A hard and well directed shot from Oliver Leopold led 32 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. If Adam Wilmen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hermann Decker in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norbert Storr saved ESKİSEHİR SK from getting behind. Niederholsten's Hermann Decker got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Hermann Decker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to ESKİSEHİR SK getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Michael Klingenbeck hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Hermann Decker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Niederholsten's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermann Decker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norbert Storr breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Norbert Storr was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Aaron Gehlhaar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Aaron Gehlhaar really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Friedrich Laier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benny Leyh, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Oliver Leopold hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Niederholsten defense, Eckart Lohmiller kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Friedrich Laier. The Niederholsten fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Friedrich Laier should have stopped the shot. Aaron Gehlhaar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Niederholsten's Hermann Decker got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hermann Decker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 77th minute, Eckart Lohmiller got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hermann Decker might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Norbert Storr. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hermann Decker ran back to his position shaking his head. Eckart Lohmiller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 84 played minutes Niederholsten got a freekick which was hit by Oliver Leopold. Hermann Decker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norbert Storr having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in ESKİSEHİR SK's zone, Hermann Decker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norbert Storr came out of the goal and Hermann Decker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Niederholsten played a much better game than ESKİSEHİR SK and deserved their victory. The ESKİSEHİR SK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
