Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Volker Steffel got the match started through his kick off. Friedrich Laier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ansgar Hajduk in the 4th minute of the match. Volker Steffel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Friedrich Laier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 7 minutes into the match, Ansgar Hajduk had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Friedrich Laier. Niederholsten's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ansgar Hajduk was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Hermann Decker, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 12 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Hellmut Beckers was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Hellmut Beckers made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Adam Wilmen sent off a good shot on target. 16 minutes into the game, Hermann Mönikes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Störmthal Red Sox's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Niederholsten the free kick. Hermann Mönikes kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Hermann Decker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hellmut Beckers having to interfere. Friedrich Laier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Volker Steffel in the 23rd minute of play. Ansgar Hajduk's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Friedrich Laier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Störmthal Red Sox's Hellmut Beckers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Störmthal Red Sox from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hermann Decker got free with Hellmut Beckers in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 36th match minute, Störmthal Red Sox was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hennes Wehowsky to maneuver through the defense. Oliver Leopold's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hellmut Beckers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Chris Blaum kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Adam Wilmen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hellmut Beckers made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Hermann Decker sent off a good shot on target. In the 45th match minute, Störmthal Red Sox was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Volker Steffel to maneuver through the defense. Hellmut Beckers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hermann Decker in the 47th minute.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adam Wilmen was the one to do the kick off. Ansgar Hajduk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Curt Selle charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Curt Selle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Störmthal Red Sox getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Curt Selle hit a great ball. Adam Wilmen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute Hermann Decker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hellmut Beckers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Störmthal Red Sox's Volker Steffel got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Störmthal Red Sox's goalkeeper Hellmut Beckers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hellmut Beckers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermann Decker in the 83rd minute of the match. When Hermann Decker came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Niederholsten fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermann Decker couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute, Hermann Decker ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hellmut Beckers was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
