When Roland Jaffke came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the FC Volley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roland Jaffke couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute, Cornelius Lindenthal made a precise shot to the right of Markus Ankleider. FC Philcity's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Fabian Berrang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horst Bechstein in the 33rd minute of the match. After 35 played minutes FC Volley got a freekick which was hit by Uwe Bohm. 40 minutes into the match, FC Philcity's goal looked a bit too open when Cornelius Lindenthal came free, but Markus Ankleider reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Horst Bechstein to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Roland Jaffke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Volley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roland Jaffke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Horst Bechstein came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the FC Philcity fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horst Bechstein couldn't finish the play. After 65 played minutes FC Volley got a freekick which was hit by Roland Jaffke. The supporters of FC Philcity booed when FC Volley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berko Fischer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herwig Betz hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the game, FC Philcity's Horst Bechstein nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabian Berrang made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Fabian Berrang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horst Bechstein in the 77th minute of play. If Horst Bechstein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Julius Walloch left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Philcity fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. FC Philcity's Markus Ankleider proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save FC Philcity from getting a goal against them. FC Philcity were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of FC Volley for a fine match.
